Sweetie & Paw-lee
Both Sweetie (sleek black) and Paw-lee (handsome tabby), had the same journey to Happy Hearts. Entering the shelter at different times, but under the same circumstances. Suddenly appearing at a farm and presumably dumped, the farmer contacted Happy Hearts and both are safe in our care.
Paw-lee, estimated to be 3-4 months, had a bot fly larvae in his neck and injury to his nose, both of which have been treated and he is healing. When of age, he will be neutered and vaccinated and ready for adoption.
Sweetie, estimated to be 9 months, was extremely underweight when she was found. At four pounds, she was assumed to be a kitten. But when taken to the vet, it was estimated she was 9 months old as she had all of her adult teeth! Her small stature is thought to be from a poor start in life. She is sweet, good with other cats, always the life of the party and best of all ready for adoption!
People believe that dropping unwanted cats at a barn is an option; that they can hunt for their survival. It is not! It is a hard life and many do not survive.
Sweetie and Paw-lee are lucky.
